Mass media would be considered to be a form of mass communication.

The article is about the topic of the different media types. It will give descriptive explanations on each type and compare them to one another.

The term “media” has a wide range of definitions, from all words and their accompanying images, sounds, and visual representations (e.g., books), to modern electronic methods like television or radio waves. Even more broadly, one could define media as any object used for communication in any form whatsoever!

Although there is no single definition that covers every aspect that can be expressed as "media", it most commonly refers to the various forms of content created by various organizations (both public and private) through broadcasting or publishing with intent to influence mass audiences toward a certain ideology or opinion.

A popular variant is to consider media as any content of information and communication technologies that are used by the general public, or a subculture or specific interest group. This can include various formats such as print, audio and video (including streaming media).

The concept of "media" can also be considered in a broad sense as the information space available to humanity for use for storage, reference and transmission (distribution) of information.

This would include all electronic forms of data storage such as microfilm, microfiche, magnetic disks TV and tapes incomputers, etc. (as well as non-electronic forms including paper books).

Media is often described as having five forms: print, audio, video, internet and mobile devices.

However, many people do not consider the Internet to be "media" because they only consider it a distribution or content tool rather than the traditional meaning of "media", which is the content itself.

The concept of using the word "content" here instead of "media" has been criticized by some for its lack of precision in describing what exactly is being distributed and offered.

They argue that this ambiguity creates a separation between form and content which simply does not exist.

Media may also be used to describe a particular way in which people receive, display or transmit information.

For example, television is media which is a passive medium by which information is sent to the viewer while radio, in contrast, is media that must be actively listened to.

Television and radio are different forms of communication using the same medium; however they are still considered media due to the different way they affect an audience.

The term "mass communication" suggests that media affects the entire country and can sometimes be considered as an extension of nation-wide news reporting.

Media can also be used to describe the process of producing, distributing and using information in society. The different forms of media are often used in an effort to achieve certain objectives. For example, radio is often used to spread political or ideological messages while many websites use free Internet access. In these cases, the term "media" becomes a "communication tool" which is an ambiguous definition since no content originates from these tools themselves as they simply represent a source that people can use to get information; therefore "media" should not necessarily be considered as the content itself but rather what people produce with the technology.
